      In recent decades, thermal stress in functionally graded materials (FGMs) has absorbed great attention from the international research community. Thermal stresses and analytical models are significant research contents in the mechanics fields of FGMs. The present attention will be focused on the following points:

        2.   Steady Thermal Stress Problems in FGMs
        3.   Unsteady Thermal Stress Problems in FGMs
        4.   General Treatments of Thermal Stresses in FGMs 
        5.   Crack Problems in the FGMs 
        6.   Crack Problems in the FGP by the Piecewise-Exponential Model
        7.   Crack Propagation in the FGP under Thermal Shock
