Jun-rong Sheng (ٿ)

Jun-rong Sheng, born in Hefei, Anhui province, is a specialist in the aerospace engineering management & measurement technology. He was formal deputy director of the State Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, and was now consultant for China manned space program plan and the lunar landing program. He is a Ph.D advisor of National University of Defense Technology and Academy of Equipment Command & Technology, and assumes as the director of SAA, Zhejiang University since 2007.

As one of those who laid the foundation of China monitoring and control web and one test field, he has long been engaged in the work of the aerospace engineering management and measurement. He developed the national large scale ground monitoring and control system, ocean synthesis measurement ship and flight development system, together with other specialists. He also proposed to develop a land-based and ocean-based global monitoring and control web which is integrated with foreign countries. He leaded the development of a monitoring and control web compatible with astronautical monitoring and control activities, which is satisfied with various flight test requirements. Since 1985, he directed more than 50 launch jobs and treated with lots of technique and management troubles. All these successful jobs did important contributions to the satellites launching. From 1992, he joined to organize and direct the project approachment, infrastructure and first-fly test of China manned space program plan and became one of major pioneers in China manned space program plan. He was honored with the National Special Prize for the Progress in Science and Technology, first State Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for national defense Innovation Special Contribution Awards, special contribution awards of the Zengxuanzis found for the China manned space in 2003, and the Military first Prize for the Progress in Science and Technology in 2004.
